AI assistants such as Claude can look up Community Days events, speakers and sessions for you. They connect through our MCP server: MCP is the common way AI assistants plug into other services. Add one address and start asking.
1. Copy the address
This is the address your assistant connects to:
https://mcp.communitydays.org/runtime/webhooks/mcpIt's free, and there's no key or account to set up.
2. Add it to your assistant
- Claude (on the web or the desktop app): open Settings, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it Community Days and paste the address.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http communitydays https://mcp.communitydays.org/runtime/webhooks/mcp - VS Code (GitHub Copilot in agent mode): add this to
.vscode/mcp.jsonin your project{ "servers": { "communitydays": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.communitydays.org/runtime/webhooks/mcp" } } } - Other assistants: any assistant that can add a remote MCP server over HTTP works. Look for “add MCP server” or “custom connector” in its settings and paste the address.
3. Ask it about events, speakers and sessions
Ask in your own words, for example:
- “Find Community Days events in Toronto.”
- “Which upcoming events have an open call for speakers?”
- “What sessions are on at that event?”
- “What has this speaker talked about at past events?”
Your assistant looks the answers up on Community Days as you ask, so they're as up to date as the site.
What your assistant can see
For your information only: there's nothing to set up here.
Your assistant sees what anyone can see on the site:
- Published events: dates, places, links, and their calls for speakers and sponsors.
- Speakers on the Speakerboard, with the profile they've written themselves if they've claimed it.
- The sessions those speakers have given at listed events.
It never sees:
- Sign-in accounts or email addresses.
- Events that aren't published yet.
- Speakers in Incognito mode: it can't look them up or list their sessions. As on the site's event schedules, an event's session list still names them unless they've also ticked “Scrub me from third-party content provider feeds”.
It only reads: an assistant can't change anything on Community Days. Speakers can hide themselves from assistants the same way they hide from the site, on their Privacy page; the change reaches assistants within a few minutes. At busy times answers can take a little longer, as questions wait their turn.
