Platform Engineering: Crafting the Golden Path to the Future

In this talk, I will introduce and demonstrate Tanstack Query (React Query), a modern framework-agnostic library that helps you manage server-side state for your client-side application

We will start by creating an application, fetch data the old-fashioned way using useEffect and useState, understand the pitfalls of it, and transition into using Tanstack Query, and see how it solves those problems.

Tanstack Query provides out-of-the-box caching, cache invalidations, prefetching, server state management, loaders, and error handlers. This will not only make your application faster but also drastically improve your Developer Experience.

I will also go through how we heavily use Tanstack Query, at Levels.fyi, to fetch and prefetch data at various places.

This lightning talk is a quick introduction to OpenUSD an open source framework for describing, composing, and sharing complex 3D scenes. I’ll cover what OpenUSD is, why it’s useful for developers, and how it helps different tools and teams work together in modern 3D workflows

OpenUSD: An Open Source Bridge for 3D

There are many ways to approach programming when building software—Imperative, Object-Oriented, and Functional Programming are three major paradigms. While the first two are often covered extensively in academic courses, the third—and arguably one of the most powerful—Functional Programming, is often overlooked.

This workshop aims to bridge that gap in a hands-on way. Together, we’ll explore the core principles of Functional Programming, including:

- Pure functions and side effects
- Closures and higher-order functions
- Function composition, Currying and partial application
- Immutability - 
- map, filter, and reduce


Functional programming foundations using  TypeScript

What if you can use the power of LLM and programming to remember your ideas, answer your questions from your own "brain from the past", take appropriate actions autonomously just in time! I experienced a massive transformation with such system. But doing this well on a consumer-grade hardware is not easy. In this talk, I will present different experiments I did to make it work on my home computer running on Linux and Intel chip. I will share what worked the best and how can you do the same completely offline, without using any cloud computing.

Building private LLM-powered second brain on Intel CPU

In this talk, we will consider few practical problems from various industries - ranging from manufacturing to software. I will then present some research done towards solving them. The aim is to provide an outline of the kind of research without going into the deeper technical details. I will try to cover a wide range of problem areas, including, Large Language Models, Reinforcement Learning and Generative AI (Variational Inference).
