SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365 has many configurable components. In this full day workshop we are going to learn about several of these components and how to expertly manage them so your SharePoint Online is properly configured, secure, and optimized.

We will begin by creating a new sandbox tenant, which you’ll be able to use throughout the conference, and back at the office after the conference. In our newly created tenant we will explore and practice several Microsoft 365 admin settings necessary to host SharePoint Online, including creating and managing users, groups, and roles as well as customizing the M365 Admin Center which will reflect what you see in the SharePoint admin center. 
We will then do a deep dive with hands-on practice into several SharePoint Online admin configuration settings, which includes creating and managing site collections, configuring the user profile service settings, understanding and configuring the search service to ensure your users are able to quickly locate the information they need, discuss SharePoint and OneDrive configuration options, explore security and access control configurations, and creating a tenant-wide structured taxonomy by using the SharePoint Online Term Store. Throughout the day we will discuss tips, tricks, and best practices for ensuring your SharePoint implementation is top-notch. 

When you complete the workshop, you’ll have a fully functional M365 sandbox tenant available for 90 days for use back at the office, and the skills necessary to configure and manage several SharePoint Online components using both the SharePoint Online Admin Center, and the powerful PowerShell command line language which is used for scripting routine SharePoint admin tasks.
